RBK-28 started with one bag I made for myself. Inspired by a sustainable jewelry class, I decided to experiment with recycled denim one of the most polluting fabrics in the fashion industry and turn it into something I actually wanted to carry. People kept asking about it. So I kept making them.
What started as a creative experiment became a small brand built entirely on word of mouth and Instagram. No ads, no campaigns. just people genuinely loving what they saw and telling others. RBK stands for Rebeca. 28 is my number. The name is personal because the project is personal: every bag is handmade, one at a time, from jeans that would have otherwise ended up in a landfill.
What the project represents:
Proof that good design doesn't need a big budget or a formal brief, it needs an idea and the conviction to make it real
A practice in sustainable thinking: giving a second life to a material that carries one of the heaviest environmental footprints in fashion
Full creative ownership from product design to brand identity to content to community
A reminder that the most honest projects are the ones you start for yourself
